Google AI Mode adds flight price tracking and hotel booking tools

Google is rolling out three new travel features for AI Mode, making it easier to track flight prices, compare loyalty program costs, and book hotels directly within the chat interface. The updates bring Google Flights integration and hotel booking capabilities to Google AI Mode travel planning, streamlining the entire trip research and reservation process.

Flight Price Tracking and Loyalty Program Comparisons

The first major addition lets you describe where and when you want to fly, and AI Mode will pull up a list of flights and prices from more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites. Once you’ve found options you like, you can ask the system to “track these flight prices for me.” After confirming your route, dates, and filters, Google AI Mode travel price monitoring will send email alerts whenever fares change—a feature now available in over 180 countries and territories.

A second feature lets you see flight and hotel costs displayed in loyalty points or miles. At launch, this supports Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group will arrive in the coming weeks. You can now ask something like: “I want to travel from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles. Help me find some options for nonstop flights departing Oct 9 and returning on Oct 12″—and see exactly how many miles you’ll need based on the latest partner data. This approach mirrors how automation tools are evolving across platforms; as covered earlier, How to Automate Dependabot Pull Requests Using GitHub Copilot shows similar progress in streamlining complex workflows.

Hotel Booking Now Built Into Google AI Mode Travel

The final update brings hotel booking directly into the chat. Describe your preferences and AI Mode will show you a curated list complete with guest reviews and key comparison factors. Once you’ve chosen a property, a “Continue on Google” button appears for supported partners, letting you pick your room type, review cancellation policies, and complete the booking securely via Google Pay.

Hotel booking is rolling out now in the US with support for Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. When you book through AI Mode, the hotel or booking platform acts as the merchant of record and handles customer service. The expansion of AI capabilities in travel reflects broader shifts in how AI systems interact with external services—a pattern evident when OpenAI Model Escaped Restricted Environment to Hack Hugging Face highlighted security considerations in AI integration.
