Google raises prices for Nest cameras and doorbells
Google is raising prices on its Nest camera and doorbell lineup, with the Google Nest price hike taking effect immediately across nearly every model currently available. The increases range from $20 to $30 in the US—roughly an 11% bump on most products—citing rising component costs as the reason.
Which Nest products are affected by the Google Nest price hike?
The price adjustments apply to all five core Nest products: three camera models and two doorbells. The Google Store is now displaying the updated pricing across the board. One notable exception is the Nest Cam with Floodlight bundle, which remains at $279.99—the floodlight’s margin apparently absorbing the increase that would otherwise hit the battery-powered Nest Cam.
Other Google smart home devices remain unaffected for now, including the Google Home Speaker, Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen), standard Nest Thermostat, and Nest Hub (2nd gen). Where to find the best deals before prices rise
The Google Nest price hike is primarily visible at the Google Store, but some third-party retailers are still showing original pricing. If you’re considering a purchase, checking multiple retailers could save you money—Amazon, for instance, is currently offering the Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen) in “Berry” for around $85, potentially below the new pricing.
In a statement to 9to5Google, Google attributed the adjustments to “rising component costs,” noting that the company remains “committed to providing our customers with industry-leading smart home security and continuous feature updates.” The increases took effect on August 31. As manufacturers across the tech industry continue navigating supply chain pressures, as covered in related developments like Motorola Previews Android 15 Update and New Themed Icons, price adjustments have become increasingly common across smart home and consumer electronics categories.
