Samsung rolls out One UI 9 beta 6 for Galaxy S26 series
Samsung has released the sixth beta build of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series, roughly two weeks after rolling out beta 5. The 851MB update includes the August 5, 2026 security patches and is now available in Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and Korea, with a US rollout expected soon.
Bug fixes and build details
The new beta, identified as build ZZHE, addresses several issues that beta testers reported. It fixes display errors affecting the Now Brief widget and home screen, resolves photo-saving problems in Expert RAW 24MP at certain focal lengths, and corrects a camera widget glitch. These targeted fixes should improve the overall stability of the software as it moves closer to a final release.

New Edge panel controls for AI Select
Beta 6 introduces a new “Touch and hold for AI select” toggle under Settings > Display > Edge panels. This gives users granular control over how the Edge panel behaves. When enabled, long-pressing the Edge panel peek window activates AI Select—Samsung‘s new take on the Smart Select tool. When disabled, the same gesture does nothing, preventing accidental triggers. Users who prefer the feature can still enable it as a shortcut within the Edge panel itself.
AI Select lets you select any portion of the screen to extract editable text, create animated GIFs from video playback, or send images directly into Generative Edit and Drawing Assist. In practical terms, it’s Samsung‘s answer to Google’s Circle to Search, offering similar functionality tailored to the Galaxy experience.
