Apple’s HomeView Smart Display Is Now Available to Preorder
Apple has officially kicked off the Apple HomeView preorder window, opening sales for its first smart display ahead of a November 13th launch. The $299 device is the centerpiece of Apple’s new push into the smart home, combining a speaker, a smart display, and deep Siri AI integration in one device.
What does the Apple HomeView look like and do?
The HomeView has a seven-inch squircle design, which Apple describes as looking like a giant Apple Watch mounted on a speaker base. Beyond controlling smart home devices over Thread and Matter, it can display recipes, show music playback controls, let you make FaceTime calls, and show a range of widgets right on the screen.

When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, the HomeView supports natural-language voice interactions through Siri AI, and it can surface information pulled from your messages, emails, and more. It arrives alongside two other new devices from Apple’s “Welcome Home” event, the Apple TV 4K and the HomePod Mini 2, both of which also lean on Siri AI.
Apple HomeView preorder options and pricing
Anyone placing an Apple HomeView preorder now can choose between multiple colors, and at checkout there’s a choice between two mounting setups. One option includes a speaker base with a custom down-firing woofer and two passive radiators for better sound, while the other is a wall-mounted version that skips the base and its extra audio hardware. Both options are priced the same.
| Spec | Speaker Base | Wall-Mounted |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $299 | $299 |
| Down-firing woofer | Yes | No |
| Passive radiators | Two | None |
Given the timing, the HomeView is expected to be a popular holiday gift this year.
